Bitter Tournament Re-Cap

The Empower Lacrosse Club completed a well-planned three day training camp leading up the Bitter Tournament in picturesque Stowe, VT.  The Camp worked on fundamental skills as well as game strategy and team play.  The 18 girls participating were focused and worked hard in preparation for the 4 game tournament.

Game one of the tournament dealt the team a tough loss to the Tomahawks, but that loss did not set the tone for the rest of the tournament weekend.  The Empower squad took to the field for game 2 and put the pressure on the Cape Cod team defeating them 13-6.  The third game of the day was also a win over the 802 girls.

With the day complete and our group in 5th overall, the team departed the fields for the lodge and a recovery afternoon of swimming, hanging out and a team dinner.

Coming into the morning game on Sunday, we knew we needed to win to have a chance of qualifying for the playoffs.  It was all or nothing.  The girls controlled the game well and were able to put into practice much of what the coaches had been saying, beating the NE Twisters 8-3 and securing their spot in the 3rd place playoffs.

At the half of the playoff game, the Empower girls were up 3-2 and playing some very good lacrosse.  Unfortunately, buy the final buzzer, the girls were down by three goals.  It was a tough loss, but a great weekend with fantastic lacrosse and tons of fun.

Next up, fall lacrosse and the incredibly fast and fun 7v7 tournaments.  Thanks to the parents and players who made this a great weekend.
